On Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022 at 4:35 p.m., Jersey City Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck at Griffith Street and Sherman Avenue, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Officers found a 36-year-old Jersey City man with serious injuries and he was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment, Suarez said.

Brandon Espinosa, the driver of the vehicle, did not remain at the scene, Suarez said. He was charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury and endangering an injured victim, Suarez said.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance next month, Suarez said.
